Finding it very hard to get one in Australia. Local stores still waiting for stock. Kobo themselves "out of stock".

What has happened? Too popular, or did Kobo not manufacture enough before announcing (could be both) ?

After looking at the cover on Amazon and their zoomed in display, I wasn't sure I'd like the feel of the cover. But I do like it. I'll know how much I like it after I get to use it.

But if I decide I don't like it enough, I have until the end of January to return it and hopefully before then, Kwimobile will have a over.

Yep, I have the same experience- JB HiFi, Officeworks, Myer, those shops that sell phone cases- all no stock.

I am using an oversized padded sleeve to carry it around with me so I don't scratch the screen.

Lucky they are tough. My old device - a Kobo Aura H20 is over 10 years old and still going strong. OK, the waterproof door fell off, and the rubberised case got sticky, so I scraped all that off. It sure looks rugged now, but it works perfectly.

As it turns out, Kobo Australia, whose web site said out of stock yesterday, said they had stock today, so I just ordered a Libre 2 with case. They are saying 7 to 10 business days. Maybe I will have it for Christmas

Their web site shows stock at one of the stores here on the Central Coast (Erina) and three stores in the northern half of Sydney (Warriewood, Hornsby and Warringah Mall). I've never been able to work this out. It has happened a few times after a release. I don't think that JB HiFi orders many, but, it does appear that Kobo is a bit pessimistic about the numbers that will be sold the first few days after release.

That was what i was afraid of when i got my libra h2o as its rubberized case is very similar to my bluetooth speaker case that got sticky. I like the libra 2's more plasticky than rubbery case.

I think all the rubberised plastic devices have turned out to be a big mistake for the industry. I tried out a latptop in a secondhand store and it had gone sticky in the same way.

I don't know about stores. In fact, I did not know Kobo had their own stores in Australia.

Anyway, I was talking about their online store. The day before I posted it showed OOS, today, it let me order. I wonder if I will get mine in the stated delivery time. I hate how they don't give you a delivery time until you hand over your money. I will be cancelling if they fail.

Kobo don't have a physical store. But, you said "Local stores still waiting for" which I assumed you meant JB HiFi or similar. And @Karellen also mentioned JB HiFi. In any case, I was talking about JB HiFi and should have stated that to make sure it was clear.
