Mine still works great, but I'm no longer rockin' with it.
I'm bored with it. In fact, I hardly ever use it anymore. I want a Forma, but the 'Wedge of Woe' light issue keeps me from buying one. |

I've tried repairing my account, and that did nothing.
I could sign out and back in again, but I'm not optimistic and I can live with it as it is really. |

The Aura One had this problem where tapping the right side of the screen sometimes made the book go a page backward. I don't think this flaw is specific to the Aura One or even to Kobos, but rather than fight the interface I would rather use something that works. That should probably go on the Calibre subforum, but that's a terrifying thought. Were you using the most up to date version of Calibre? (I'm not, and when I eventually update I don't want to be dragged into Calibre 5.x.) Last edited by Joliet Jake; 09-29-2021 at 12:27 PM. |

Why not? The Alf plugins work just fine with 5.x, if that's your concern. Yes, there were problems right after the version 5 came out, but they're long gone.

I'm now rocking BOTH an Aura One and a Forma.
I've decided it's a GREAT THING TO HAVE BOTH! When the battery is low on one, I can sync (or quick check ADE page number for side-loaded epubs) and immediately resume reading on the other device. Have I mentioned I might, just might, read too much? ![]() I quite love the Forma, and the Dropbox access was very easy to set up and is a feature I'm really liking! The interesting thing is the arrival of the Forma apparently put my Aura One on notice, as it hasn't done ANY screen weirdness since the Forma arrived. Knock on wood! Love both these readers! |

I'm still using my Kobo Aura One even though the battery life isn't that good anymore. The screen is as good as ever while touch accuracy hasn't improved over the years ...

My Aura One still works fine for reading, but several months ago it decided it was no longer going to side load any books. I never loaded any books, any other way, and still have not tried to do that. But I have hundreds of unread books on it, so I can keep using it for those!
I bought the new Elipsa and it’s nice too, just different. Last edited by elizilla; 10-03-2021 at 01:14 AM. |

I'm ambivalent about the One.
It is a pretty good reader in normal use, the software is good, the screen is pretty good, but the lighting is uneven and patchy, and the touch detection is very poor. |

It's still the One for me... None of the new Kobo readers have even tempted me to replace it. Mostly, I admit, is because I never liked the newest firmware of Kobo (still using an old one on my One).

Hi, I'm in the group of One's lovers and mine is a little bit on the Frankenstein side: I have a battery from Aura 2 and the motherboard come from another One with broken display (my MB stopped synch and charge the battery).
The only issue I have replacing the motherboard is that now my screen become easily garbage until a full page refresh.. I experience a lot of ghosting... Anyone know why? By the way, Aura One forever

Id been holding out hope that Kobo would release a new flagship that would be an obvious upgrade on the Forma, but am disappointed with the Sage now that its here.
I am going to keep my eye out for a used KA1. I wish Kobo had just thrown a mobius screen on the KA1 and tweaked it to try to further trim the weight and increase the responsiveness instead of the disappointment we ended up getting. |
