Choice is good. I would like a modern 6.8" PocketBook, but I'm guessing I'm not going to see one, unless Kindle's move to 6.8" screens gets others interested in that size. |

For fiction, I can easily read on any size. It doesn't really matter (besides having to turn the page more often or not).
But for non-fiction... being able to see more is very helpful. Many times you read, think, read again, read something just before, etc. Being able to see as much as possible without having to turn a page can be extremly helpful. (Not even counting images, graphs and tables.) |

Koreader can organize books using folders. Also I was comparing it to Amazon, not Kobo.

Also the Oasis is absurdly priced. It's only 7" and you can't install Koreader. In fact, why get an insanely expensive Oasis when the new PW is almost the same size, has a colored light, and is way cheaper? There isn't much between the Oasis and PW now, except a fancy shape and bragging rights.

As to bragging, I have no one to brag to. No one of my friends and family knows anything at all about ereaders. They'd look totally blank if I tried to rave about my Oasis in front of them. ![]() I bought the Oasis because I love the shape and need the buttons. I'm not a KOReader fan and don't find the Kindle software so terrible as many others here. Last edited by Sirtel; 09-29-2021 at 05:37 PM. |

And...bragging, Pajamaman? To whom? It's an eReader, for crying out loud. I can't imagine anyone brags about owning a given eInk reader! It's not like it's a Veyron! :-) Hitch |

I could see someone maybe bragging about having a Kindle in the brief moment where they were almost cool when Oprah recommended it shortly after launch. But that was well over a decade ago.

That's a lot of extra money for a different shape and two buttons. There is now not much else between a PW and an Oasis. What is the price differential?
For comparable wifi 32GB wifi models, I'm seeing $349 for the Oasis bundle (ad "supported") with a normal little USB plug charger, and $239 for the PW bundle (ad-free) with a fancy wireless charger. Bloody hell. That's almost $100 less for 6.8" PW, and you get ads-free and a wireless charger to boot. Almost same size, and comfort light. But then the Oasis has always been about "premium", so money is not the issue for those that want that. But I am surprised that Amazon has so blurred the difference between their standard and premium model. I wonder if the Oasis will lose sales. |

I paid €260 for my ad-free 32GB wifi only Oasis 3, taxes included. The shipping was free (I bought it from Amazon.de).
