How do you know that? As you have never used one of the devices under discussion, how do you know how you would use it? The layout means you will probably hold it differently than your current "perfect" ereader, the Aura H2O. There is a very good chance you would one day realise you hadn't touched the screen to turn the page for a while.

Fortunately, I am always looking for the perfect eReader, so I don't think I will keep my Forma long enough to run into this issue. Unfortunately I have seen it happen on several items. Currently I have a Sangean portable shortwave radio where the volume button is getting sticky. I have a pair of nice leather 1990 Raichle hiking boots that I dug out of the closet for a trip to Big Bend National Park. Still fit like a glove. Thank goodness I took them for a test run (about 2010). After about half a mile the Vibram soles literally crumbled off the boots. I was able to get them resoled. I doubt Kobo offers that option!

Issues with mine
I've had a Kobo Forma since close to two years now and have had problems with the protective layer peeling off the rubber.
Pretty disappointed to be honest since it's always been kept in their 50 EUR official Protective Cover Sleep Cover when I commute/travel. Previously bought a Kindle Paperwhite in 2013 and still looks great to this day (also with the case). Last edited by WT Sharpe; 07-05-2021 at 04:59 AM. Reason: Oversized graphic |

This looks worrying, but what does have it to do with the rubberized plastic covering ? I understand it's only on the back on the device, and you're showing us the front.

I think the side strip that has the buttons is rubberized too...

interesting, I have had the Forma since it came out and not had any issues with the "rubberized" finish. And tbf, I use this thing daily.
I have gotten the new Elipsa, but I will still be using the Forma daily. |
