From epub to mobi (problem with double cover)

What can I do to avoid having 2 covers in my mobi file (for my Kindle Oasis) with an epub (where I start from) with 1 cover only?

Modern formats have a cover DECLARED in the OPF (If it was not done properly, it is just another Image)

Older formats (Mobi) just made the first page with the cover IMAGE

What Mobi format are you using? (I assume you are emailing which requires Mobi)

I have explained my problem in the wrong way, let's start from the beginning:
- I have many epubs;
- I use Calibre to convert epub to mobi format for my Kindle Oasis.

I don't think you explained wrong
But you did add to the description

Using the Quality check Plugin: Check EPUB Structure: Check non-replacable covers.
NOTE Check Covers on the top menu, checks Calibr, not the book

check those EPUB that have issues. I suspect the books have issues

Mobi and KF8 do not use HTML code to display the cover. So you need to delete the cover HTML from the ePub and make sure the cover is correctly marked as such. Then when you convert, you'll only get one cover.

Also, don't convert to Mobi. Convert to KF8 as Mobi is obsolete and has less functionality on your Kindle Oasis.

There's a check box in the Structure Detection section when you convert a book. You can choose it to remove the first image in the book you're converting.

In the Calibre editor, right click on the cover image and select "Mark <name of cover> as cover image". Then it will be marked correctly as the cover image.

1) the Image file (remember it is just a Naked file)
2) The HTML file where it is used.
I think forgetting #2 is where most go wrong

The HTML file can be deleted. It's what causes the 2nd cover.
