It's just a zip file. Download the latest tagged source from github and create your own plugin zip from it.

Looks like it's already been fixed, though.

I did report this and I hope it gets fixed. But for now, I wont be trying it until it is fixed as I don't know what's going on with it.

I took a look at that when I downloaded it. It has 2 copies of what appears to be 7.0.0b3 embedded. These can be discarded. There is no ill effect from installing 7.0.0b4 since that embedded copies never gets used.

You can deleted those two zip files before installing or if you feel really enthused, you can download the code as a zip archive from the github site and then run make_release.py to generate the DeDRM and Obok plugins.

It's OK to download 7.0.0b4 as it's been fixed.

From the sound of things, nothing was actually broken. Although including unused files is a bit careless.

A new version of DeDRM (7.0.1) is now available from Apprentice Harper's GitHub. This is now called a prerelease instead of a beta so possibly getting closer to a general release.

I'd rather it not be rushed and only released as a full version when it's been tested to fully work.

Even though the what's new only said it's for PDF, there is more code changes then just PDF. For example, some of the code for handling Kindle eBooks has been changed. I did not check the ePub code yet.

When was the last time you used a piece of bugfree code. And note that this version is not a release version. It's pre-release AKA beta.

And as the site says, use 6.8.1 if you have issues.

Did you also notice the Obok plugin has also had some changes though those were in translations?

The betas are all labeled as pre-releases too.

eta: I assume the prerelease in the title is because the version number no longer has a b. Harper didn't want people to assume that meant is was a full release.

Speaking of versions, one thing I noticed is that while Harper changed the version number in the release note to 7.0.1, it is still 7.0.0 in the actual plugin. That means it still won't be possible to determine which pre-release version is being used in an import log.

But one thing that's left out of the what's new is that there are other changes here and there. I don't know if the changes are for Python 3 or for fixes or both. I know the PDF code was for fixes.

I didn't notice Obok has had any changes. I don't use it as I have no need for it. I download ePub and if I was KePub, I want KePub, I use the KoboTouchExtneded driver or kepubify.

As far as I can tell all of the changes are fixes for Python 3 compatibility needed to make things work under calibre 5.
