Remarkable 2 and Calibre
All - apologies if these questions have been asked. I searched the forums but could not find the answers to the following questions.
I am very much interested in the Remarkable 2 coming out in June timeframe. One thing that interest me above and beyond the note taking capability is the ability to read epubs (DRM free) on the device. This essentially could replace my Kindle/Ipad and notebooks. 1. Does Remarkable connect to Calibre which is my primary way of porting books onto my reading device? 2. Does anyone know how the Remarkable handles the metadata I have in Calibre? In other words, like most I use Calibre to organize my books especially the series by keeping them in order. So the basic question is when I transfer books to the Remarkable will it also take the series order and that's what I see. Hope these questions make sense and someone can give me some insight into these very important topics before I order one. Thanks in advance. |

But Calibre Companion works on Android 10.3 Notes devices from Boox and Boyue-Likebook. Last edited by ottischwenk; 05-20-2020 at 03:10 PM. |

Sadly, we will need to wait for the release before your questions can be properly answered. |

I just received my reMarkable 2. Have not tried to connect it yet to my Linux PC.
They do support transfering files when connected with USB, but it is through an Web UI. https://support.remarkable.com/hc/en...-cable?preview[theme_id]=210292689&preview_as_role=anonymous It is a shame that they don't support Linux the same way as Windows and MacOS. Considering that reMarkable is running a Linux OS. |

@DJViking: based on the link you posted that solution will work in linux too. They seem to use usbnet + dhcpd + httpd and you're expected to open a browser at http(s)://10.11.99.1

Not what you asked for, but for those, who don't know, yet, there is an overview of community hacks at https://github.com/reHackable
Also, on the /r/RemarkableTablet Reddit there is some alternative software (including a full firmware replacement, but that makes you lose the typical reMarkable features) discussed. |
