I don't understand the motivation for 'pinning', but then I turn off Home screen on Kindle and would if that were possible in Kindle app on iOS, etc.

Recent order shows the books I'm currently reading on the first screen. When purchasing, send to Cloud or some non primary device so they don't show up among the Recent, downloaded books.

Amazon just pull back the 5.12.4 update from the "Kindle E-Reader Software Updates" page.

Till now no problems with 5.12.4 - except that the new features are not present. Going back to .3 or wait that the "piranha" from the big river makes the next move. Very frustating - with no communication why they remove the FW.

If I download the .bin of 5.12.3, can I downgrade from 5.12.4 by placing the bin file in the root folder of the Kindle?

Or is there any other way to downgrade?

Reckon it was because of the bug causing the home screen to go blank for some users.

Seems that OTA deployment continues, got report that PW4 updated to 5.12.4 last night.

However it might not be the same 5.12.4 as before. It's not unknown for newer versions to use an old number, though no-one should do it.

Makes sense that you cannot do it manually. Happened before that an update didn't work correctly depending on which version you updated from. By doing it OTA only, they can eliminate any potentially crippling effects from skipping a few updates.
