How long should the update take (the OOO dots) on the N905C Touch?
Running for a while now! |

Ah ... finally it's done.
Seems OK on the N905C Touch so far! Not not fully tested (i.e. annotate & read them with Calibre, add more books, rinse & repeat). Nice having chapter title. Ghosting much reduced, looks near perfect on page turns. It was VERY bad on this reader. |

If done properly there is no difference. You're simply copying files onto the Kobo that would be downloaded over-the-air. The only downside of a manual update is that it introduces the chance of user error.

My Aura One took forever to return to Home screen after update/reboot.
Turns out that this version ignored the .noscan directive in subfolders, and added to the device library all 6000+ epubs in the hidden folder I sync my full Calibre library to for backup.

Yes, it's been discussed above. Apparently Kobo changed this because it was requested by users.

Took the liberty to upgrade to this version. Did not patch anything. Made sure the TOC of my test ebook (EPUB, calibre 3.48) contained all files. Reading is ok. Can live with GUI changes. I even like the progress bar.
But... make a selection in text, highlight it, go to the annotation page and delete it there (or even by re-selecting the same text and opt for Remove Highlight) and the highlighting remains when returning to the reading page. I did see this problem appear with FW 4.15, so the issue is still there. Only workaround I found so far is to leave the book and then re-open it. Any suggestions? |

Move your .noscan to .kobo/addons (or is it Addons). Then it won't be scanned.

Is some solution for the books in the sdcard?
If I rename the folder to .kobo in the sdcard work also?. The Kobo can't manage this big library I use it with koreader to navigate in subfolders of the hidden folder. Enviado desde mi SM-A705FN mediante Tapatalk |

It's annoying, but not hugely annoying. Just updated my Original H2O. I do like being able to have chapter heading. I don't need the name of book in footer, so I turned that and progress bar off as the chapter heading is set to % (book progress actually in an epub). I do think this is slight improvement in reading GUI, though bookmarks and annotations/highlights ought to be separate, one tap less to annotations? |

If a patch can be available to have them as before, fine. If not, for me is more a "no go" than a "what an improvement!". Last edited by JIPG-reader; 09-17-2019 at 04:06 PM. |
