Thanks for the answer; I was a bit worried that the current fabric Amazon cover wouldn't work for the O3.

It looks like I'll be receiving both the cover and device much sooner than I thought, even though I marked it down shipment to be delayed due to being overseas at the moment. Fortunately, I'll be home on the very day of delivery.

I read mostly PDF and I wonder if the 7" Oasis is better than the ordinary 6" Kindle ?

Not by much. You'd need at least 8'', probably larger.

I agree with this. To tell the truth anything k we 8" is hella expensive. If someone really needs if for pdf"'s I thinik it's just best to stick with a tablet...

Ok an update got my Oasis 3 today. The screen is very nice. The case i got with it the fintie for $10 is also nice, but the wake/sleep does not work.

But after setting it all up with about 1200 books loaded. I've decided its going back. It's so slow. Once you put that many books on it it slows to a crawl to find anything. The actual reading of the book and the page turn buttons is great thou. But why did i buy a 32gb device if i'm not going to put books on it, and i had yet to DL my audible library.

I just think i have an issue with the software, i just don't like the menu's i hate collections adding books one book at a time by checking boxes stinks. Even calibre's solutions arent great.

maybe i'm not an eink person anymore been reading on my Ipad Mini 5, its so easy to browse for books.

I will probably just get a black friday paperwhite. The unit is good if you can get it for what i paid about $150. It just was'nt for me.

Did you wait for indexing to complete?
Search for a nonsense word, and at the bottom there will be something like “Search in Text”. Hit it and it will show you how many books are not yet indexed. It took about two days to process my 500 books. So your waiting time might be longer. Also you might end up with some books which couldn’t be indexed.

You should do a search for the thread on loading a large library on an oasis. Your oasis is might be slow because it is still indexing.

Not sure I have anything to compare it to I only owned a paper white and non lighted but yes it’s the best screen and contrast I’ve seen on a kindle

'Much better'

I mean, slightly better, but it's more a function of the cooler lighting than anything else and the lighting on my Voyage isn't nearly that even, so only the bottom half has that contrast. Overall the warmer Oasis screen (even without the warm LEDs on) looks much more natural.

The amazing Voyage contrast meme is getting absurd. It was absolutely true when the Oasis 1 launched, that screen was awful...

It's not absurd. I have the Voyage, the Oasis 1 and the Oasis 2. The Voyage has the best contrast, but the most uneven lighting. The contrast of the Oasis 1 and the Oasis 2 is about the same, not quite as good as the Voyage. And certainly the screen of my Oasis 1 is far from awful. It's pretty nice.
