One or two strong-willed member of the thread have had success. Even I, in my small way, have either reduced the number I buy, or at least increased the quality.

OTOH, I've already bought 11 books this month.

But they are all books that I really wanted and were on offer.

Me. I don't find enough books in a month that I would want to read to allow me to build up a TBR pile. Please note that this does not stop me from reading a ridiculous number of books per month. Taking the average novel length being between 70,000 and 120,000 words so from (approximately) 70 minutes to 120 minutes per book. Given the popularity of the novella in ebooks, that drives the number of books per month even higher.

Oh man that sucks. I would go nuts on long trips if I could not read. I grew up reading in cars. My father was in the Air Force and we traveled a lot. If you stopped at night it could easily take three days of hard driving to cross the US back then.
