I got it, you first create a highlight with the pencil icon and then you select that highlight again and you get a second pencil icon. Will the annotation feature support the Apple Pencil in later versions? I often sit with the iPad in my hand and not connected to a keyboard (not a fan of soft keyboards) but with the Pencil next to me.

Marvin is clearly the most feature laden e-Reader software I have had the pleasure to use.

Kumabjorn, in Marvin settings, you can enable that highlight+annotate button to be visible all the time. It's just hidden by default.

Hi Kris,
I've just installed Marvin 3 and done a backup/restore of my old Marvin library into it. So far I am very impressed but have one issue that I hope can be cured.
Bringing up a list of books under old Marvin the mini covers can be flagged as unread (* on red background), read (tick on blue background) or being read (no flag). Under Marvin 3 these flags should be able to appear as swiping the book brings up the options to do this. My restored library shows these flags are set.
But the flags don't appear on the mini book cover. Even when I turn them on after swiping, these don't appear. Is this a bug, or hasn't this been implemented? If it should work is there an option in the settings I can turn on to make the flags appear, I've searched the extensive Marvin 3 settings and so far I haven't found anything.
Also any news on the Calibre sync plugin yet? I really miss that after the IOS 8.3 release broke it.
Apart from these issues I really love the new Marvin 3, great job.

Under page accessories in marvin 3.0 you show 6 options and we are to select one. Would it be possible to allow for two options as i want only to know what page I am on of total pages and how many pages left in chapter, same as ibook.

The percentage in the bookmark seems to reflect my progress in a chapter. Is there any way to change that so it shows my progress in the entire book?

For this, I'm certain there are as many user preferences as there are Marvin users. Each of us is diffferent, and each of us would prefer to see something different in the header/footer. Which is why I posted this request on GitHub back in 2013:

Now, the good news is that Kris has confirmed that this will be added to Marvin 3 later on – customisable templates with placeholders, so that each of us can see exactly what we wish in our book footers/headers.

Is there any reason Marvin cannot display embedded fonts outside of publisher layout? Is there any reason not to have ADE page numbers?

Embeded fonts, perhaps Kris has the CSS do something like also use default line-height and other settings. Perhaps agree that default font maybe should be among the list of font choices, and maybe a separate setting for other publisher layout CSS. Though I'm not sure exactly what it changes so I'm not positive. If later the color issues get fixed, it's possible only the font setting needs to change and be among the font list, perhaps even as default for a newly opened book, and there might not be a publisher layout setting needed.

As for page numbers, I think they're coming. ePub 3 + ADE page-map should be possible.

Have forebearance with yet another noobie question. I get to the Change cover... And Google provides me with a plethora of covers to choose from. However, I just don't seem to be able to make Marvin switch to another cover. When shown in the browser there is no "switch cover?" option available. What am I missing?

I've noticed that too. For the moment, looks like you need to save to Photos and then set from it. It's possible that's the only way since I'm not sure if one has any control over the web browser but maybe it is possible and can be added later.

@JSWolf I prefer the way Marvin competes page numbers. Both are arbitrary values anyway.
@Kumabjorn When you open the page cover menu there is a tip explaining it all. You have to save your image to your cameral roll, then select it.

ADE page numbers are important when going to/from Marvin and ADE/a Reader that uses ADE such as Kobo, B&N, Sony, and others. It means you can easily find where you left off. I'm not saying to remove the pages left in the current flow but to add ADE page numbers alongside.

Also, what about displaying embedded fonts when not using publisher layout? It's dragging Marvin into the toilet without this.
