Yes, that's what's plastic on the PW3, and glass on the Voyage. To my eyes at least, the glass screen of the Voyage results in improved contrast. Not dramatically better, but certainly noticeable.

I saw Kindle Paperwhite and Fire on sale in Boots yesterday on a display stand

I hoped that my local Boots might have them but I've checked three different ones pretty recently and no joy. Seems like they just don't want us Glaswegians to get a looksee

I agree too. I have the Voyage and hubby has both the PW2 and the PW3.

This will soon change! I've bought a second-hand Voyage and Amazon Origami case on ebay. (£140 instead of £210, so I hope it'll turn out to be a good buy.)

I must admit that it's the launch of the Oasis that made me get the Voyage. It's surprising how much better value the Voyage looks compared to the price of the Oasis!

Oh, of course! I had forgotten that. Thanks, both. I shall soon be able to report my own feelings on the matter, as I have a Kindle Voyage arriving shortly, and my wife has a PW3.

Excellent - hope you enjoy it! It's by far the best eInk device I've ever owned, and after using it for 18 months I've no desire to change it.

There's a banner on Amazon UK today... 20% off selected Kindles for World Book Night (so that's all of them except, quite obviously, the Oasis). Voyage is now £135.99. I am *almost* tempted at that price. However, I only got the PW3 back in November when they were reduced to £80; plus I'd need to buy a new cover and the latest FW can't be JB'd so would be stuck with the crappy selection of default screensavers and fonts.
I think I've just talked myself out of a purchase

Edit: hmmmm I see that JL are price-matching (well, actually 3p cheaper) I could pop over to my local one, with a bit of luck it's slightly older stock that might still come with 5.6.5

That's the first time the Voyage has ever been discounted in the UK. IMO its a very good deal, if i didn't have one already I would be very tempted.

Well I'm just back from the JL at Canary Wharf - given how unloved their Kindle display is, I have high hopes of it still being on old FW

So, erm, yes, it seems I have bought a Voyage

Edit: Yeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssss , my gamble paid off, it's still on 5.6.5

Jailbreak, here I come...
