Kate Shugak / Dana Stabenow series
Hello, I've heard good things about this series (here on MR), so I was thinking of trying it. My libraries have the series starting with #10. Would I be missing much if I started this mid-series?

IMO I wouldn't skip books in the series, but then I never skip books in a series and don't really understand how people can/do. IMO there are some fairly significant things that happen throughout the series that help shape Kate and who she is.

Start with the first book and then decide whether you care enough to read 2-9 or even 10. You may hate book 1!

About 10-11 years ago a PC friend sent me the 1st Kate book. I HATED it!! But over time when I got the ereader I kept picking up a ebook here ebook there Free of cheep.. So one day I decided for lack of fresh reading books to re-read book 1...still hated it. But decided to try book 2 then 3 then 4 before I knew it I read the Whole Kate series except the Last! Nope not going to read it thanks to the reviews posted on Amazon!
Anyway Telling some one that IF you hate the 1st book ... Well I think the Rest are Great! But without the 1st book you do loose background on the story line.
