Multi-tabbing didn't work for me either. Chrome.

A single code could be applied in several checkout tabs, but only the first purchase would go through and appear in the library.

I guess this is what it feels like to get coal for Christmas.

Noticed this issue a few days ago but I'm not sure if it came with the multi-tab fix since I rarely do that. Kobo seems to be tinkering with the checkout page, at least.

When our store credits cover the total amount of purchase, we usually get a "Your purchase is covered — thanks! You don't need to enter your payment information at this time. <Skip This Step>" note below our chosen payment option. Clicking the Skip link currently doesn't do anything, and it now only appears when credit card is selected.

Not a big deal, unless you're used to clicking that Skip link instead of the Continue button like I am.


Anyway, two we've-missed-you codes. They expire…well, they expired forever ago, actually, but they're still working. How Kobo.

Okay, so if the reason why multi tabbing doesn't work is because of changes associated with the credit points then multi tabbing will still work in countries like India where they don't have it.

Not necessarily. The points may have been the reason for the fix, but there's no reason to restrict the fix to the points-eligible regions. Might as well plug the hole everywhere.

Basically, as I read it, there were several minor glitches that the multitab bug allowed, and the points issue is only the most recent. However, it's also the squeakiest; people value the points they were missing out on more than minor problems like missing receipt emails.

I tried multi tab in Safari this morning too and it didn't work. It gives the message that something is wrong with your payment method on the second tab.

No, it's not in my library. It wasn't that error message you get after you actually pay (though the wording was similar), it was as soon as you click the button to place the order. I always pay via PayPal even when multi-tabbing and it never went to the PayPal login screen.

Recently India no longer accepted 'miss you' codes either. I tried a few different countries [IN, MX, HK], basically only places that accepted 'miss you' codes were countries which accepted contest codes [CA, US, UK, AU, NZ].

So unless it's a generic code from Kobo [which we don't see a lot of anymore], I don't see how that would be helpful anyways.

It will be very interesting to see if we get another contest [which I think we will now that they've got multi-tabbing locked down].

For me, I'm just prepared to start buying more books at Amazon and only occasionally when I get a good code from Kobo.
