I didn't know that, and it is quite possible. That will help me for a quick fix by cycling again. Thank you.

I had a simular problem after syncing (but I stayed on 3.13.1) so this may be unrelated to your update. The recommendation I got here was that I should have organized my shelves with Calibre right away then it would have been only a matter of minutes to restore them (you need to asign tags to a custom column for every book and then have the Kobo Extended plugin turn these into shelves).
That being said, there is no other way but to reorganize your shelves again, either with calibre or by hand on the decice itself.

I know this seems insignificant, but this release includes the ability to use the back quote character (`) on the keyboard by long pressing the single quote key ('). This finally allows me to connect to certain wifi networks, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

I had sent in a request in late June and they seem to have answered my wishes. Thanks Kobo!

When I synch my KOBO H2O to my desktop, firmware 3.17 does not install. Is this new firmware available to everyone. I am in Canada BTW.

3.17.0 seems currently not to be available from any affiliate.

An italian user has noticed in Kobo Glo the page doesn't remain after turning off... And another user has noticed this on his Kobo Aura HD...
Has someone else noticed this problem?

Do this:
1) Turn on Kobo and open an ebook
2) Go ahead a few pages
3) Turn off, turn on and open the ebook: is the page the same?

Aura here on 3.17.

Quick test, seemed to work fine for me. Opened a Kepub, turned 3 pages, switched off, then back on. Came back to same page.

(Patched 3.17 though so don't know if that affects the result)

Maybe not all the devices have this problem... on our forum 5/5 devices have the problem... but they are only Glo or Aura HD...
I also have the patch by geoffr

EDIT: Oh! I forgot! We use kepub after processing epub with Calibre.. Maybe it's important

I just tried it on my Glo HD with a kepub, and when I reopened the book after restarting the reader, I was back at the original page, not the new page where I left it at. I tried it again remaining on pages as long as it might take to read them, turned the reader off and on again, and same thing... back to the original starting page and not where I left off.

Luckily I only use epubs and I never shut off my reader ... but it still shouldn't be doing that for those who prefer shutting off their reader.

Edit: I should add that I am patched and I'm pretty certain that I created the kepub from an epub just for testing purposes since I never use kepubs like I said.

Thank you for the confirm
I use kepub but I don't switch off my reader (I use a sleep cover)..
Anyway, Kobo team has to insert at least a bug if it want to be happy!

The thing that frustrates me about the pdf issue is that it's a regression. I found this pdf. In 3.2 the behavior is okay. Not great, but ok.

In every release past 3.2 RMSDK's performance with this pdf is pathetic.

Now, with sickel, a pdf like this one will almost certainly cause reboots. And it's not really obvious to me why this particular pdf makes the performance suck when other similar ones are okay. Meaning if I upgrade I either need to patch or just not use PDFs at all.

OK, I can reproduce this here. But, if the device is put to sleep first or you return to the home screen, it remembers the page correctly. I suspect that means it is related to the bug GeoffR reported about displaying the wrong percent read on the sleep screen.

I don't remember when I first noticed it, but I did notice long ago that when I turn my readers (H2o and glo HD) on and off while a book (all kepubs for me, no patches) is open, it often reopens a page or two back, and this whether I am at the beginning or in the middle of a book, and also when I've read many pages since I last closed the book.

I deduced that it can't be that the database updates only when closing a book, and that kobo probably doesn't update continuously not to slow the reading process, but often enough that only a page or two is concerned. If so it doesn't seem a bug but an understandable programming choice.

I think (not sure) that it is the same with the %: I had the wrong % when I was doing a quick back and forth in the book, like looking up a note and not going back.
