Good morning, everyone! Today's packing day. Gotta get everything assembled and packed up tight. We leave tomorrow morning. I want to get everything done early as it's now the hottest time of the year here. Already 100°f and it's only 8am! I don't want to be running around in the afternoon sun! I've got a big mug of East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea to start the day, and a planned visit to the Food Lady in a few minutes. We might even turn on the air conditioner today! It's hot!

Yep! Packed up and ready for an early morning departure. Helmet communicators charged and linked, GPS functioning, with both the Burmese and Lao borders clearly marked (we plan to be within a stone's throw of the borders during most of the daylight hours, moving inland to sleep,) maps... such as they are, printed out and put in waterproof map cases. Good morning, everyone! A quick breakfast and a mug of Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea, and it's off to see the Wizard! Due north out of town until that road bends east, then a smaller road that will take us to the border. From there we swing around north-east following the border onto and up 'Doi Ang Khan,' (19.908116, 99.052988) the highest peak overlooking Burma, 2k (hopefully) away... There are several remote Lahu and Karen hill tribe villages on this mountain, and I hope to locate some of them. Then it's down the mountain, following the border around to the east, eventually reaching the co-ordinates 20.354190, 100.082855 where Thailand, Burma, and Lao come together in the famous opium growing/smuggling region known as 'The Golden Triangle.' The CIA helped fund the Vietnam War with poppy juice from this area.

Ah... Tea is finished. Wife says she's ready... Tally ho!
