Caseless. I have a nice skin on it though. I put it in a sleeve when I go out, but when I read it's case free.

Those skins are pretty forgiving when you first put them on. You can carefully peel it off and seat it again. Plus there's some stretch so any bubbles are very easy to get rid of the usual way. They're really very easy to get on and to get on correctly.

Once the skin has been on awhile though, you'll probably ruin it trying to peel it off and if there were any serial number stickers that you covered, those will peel completely off with the skin. |

This skin was easy to put as was already said, that's not a problem at all. I don't see any reason to peel it of any time, as I choose the skin I really like.

It is not a distraction either. Different people, different strokes I guess. I hate the plain black color. The green is a bit darker then the advertisement image, which I actually like. Here's my own image. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to up the vanilla black or grey of any ereader. https://www.decalgirl.com/ |

			I'm not comfortable going caseless.

It's not quite the same as "old book smell" -- thank goodness, since the reason I didn't like going to the library was the way the books smelled! -- but I like to have an actual cover to open and close when I'm reading. Part of my relaxation ritual, I guess. Also, I want to protect my devices from scratches. I'm sure a lot of people don't care if the nice shiny back is all scuffed and scratched, but I don't like that, so I protect everything with cases. |

I use skins from Decalgirl. Currently mine is dressed in Almond Blossoms. Very pretty in the glossy version it looks like chinese ceramic. Before that it was Starry Night. Not only is it protected from scratches, it looks nice.

I use cases on all my devices but not all protect them if they are dropped. I had a Aura HD in a case and dropped it and broke it. I use the case simply because I carry them in a purse or backpack and don't want to scratch up the screens too much.

The Finite case I recently bought is the first case (on any of my devices, past and present) that I TRULY like and find make the ereader better.

Other cases on past devices I would sometimes find myself taking the ereader out when reading, because it would get in the way. But weirdly, the only times I've ever damaged an ereader was when it was IN the case. (Once just some cosmetic damage to the outer shell, once a cracked screen on an ereader that had fortunately already reached backup status). So I wouldn't overestimate how much protection a case actually supplies. (I've dropped caseless kindles short distances without problems, except to my heart.) |

I go the case route. My theory of where to put things is that all flat surfaces are fair game; the tablets are flat. I've stacked 3 tablets & it didn't matter whether the largest (fire hdx) is on top or bottom; even stacked the tablets together when charging more than 1.

The tablets are on the coffee table when not in use; haven't spilled coffee/tea or OJ on them yet when used as a substitute coaster temporarily. Also, when reading, closing the case saves the page without my doing a bookmark when starting up again; guess the same thing can work when using the power button.. |

I have 5 T3s. 2 with covers, 3 without. And a coverless Aura HD which I haven't used in to years.

I don't mind the covers/cases, but overall prefer without for reading at home. My first very expensive Sony came with a lovely quilted cover and I thought this was great. And in those days Sony readers were built like tanks compared to today. Since Sony has stopped making readers I bought a few because I prefer them to the 6 others I have tried, not counting tablet apps which I am not fond off. 3 of my T3's I got for 39.95 and since they never leave my bedside I am not that worried about damage. Could happen of course. The other two, one with regular sleep cover, one with lighted sleep cover are in my backpacks or bus an appointments etc. The Aura HD lives under my bed. 5 T3s is probably one too many, as one is still in the box, but I like having them.
