I usually use my ereader for reading. I like reading outdoors, and it's more comfortable to hold. The tablet is used for reading when necessary (PDFs and magazines).

It's kind of funny going from a tablet to an e-ink Kindle. It's like "Why is it so grey?".
But I prefer the lighter weight, being able to read outside, not having to constantly recharge it, and most importantly, buttons. It's a pain to read on a tablet in bed, usually I lay on my right side, which means my left hand is the one that turns the page. The Kindle Keyboard has a page turn button on the left side, the Tablet requires a tap on the right side of the screen |

My ereader isn't e-ink, but I still prefer it to my tablets.
The tablets are best at PDFs and comics. The magazines I read are the Dell magazines -- Asimov's SF, Ellery Queen Mystery, etc. -- and they look fine on the JetBook. Still, it's good to have the tablets with me when I need to do other things. On the road, for instance, I might need to check street directions and traffic, so I bring the Android -- and if there's a delay, I can use it to read something. But if I'm going to sit down and read, I prefer the ereader. |

I use my iPad mini all the time as a reader and my Sony now gets very little use.

No. For extended periods of reading I still use my kindle, however in certain situations I've found it more convenient to use my ipad mini.
However one thing I use my tablets for exclusively is for reading comics and pdfs. |

My iPad (1) was used as a paperweight after a month of use... Too hard to transfer files on it (no, I don't have iTunes on my computer, I refuse), not enough free apps (at the time), no multi tasking, too heavy and no e-ink screen. So it didn't replace my PRS-505.
Now I have a Note 10.1 and I do use it more than the PRS but not for reading: web, games, writing... Same with my phone. I read on it sometimes when I don't have my PRS with me (like when I "lose it" under the sofa) but I don't like it. So now, I have a (big) phone, a (big) tablet, papers, magazines and a reader in my bag... No wonder my back hurts ^^ |

I read exclusively on my Kindle Paperwhite (and Kindle 3 before it). I have an iPad 3 which I use daily but for games & some web browsing before sleep when the desktop is off already.

I read probably 95% of the time on my Kindle and PRS505 -- the rest on the iPad.

For reading fiction or mostly prose books, eInk is tops. But I typically carry a tablet around because I also like to play games in odd moments. Still working out exactly how this will work, because right now my typical rig includes ereader + tablet + notepad + phone, and I'm starting to run out of space.

Sounds like you need a phablet like the Samsung Note.

I exclusively read on my T1 and Paperwhite. The Fire is just used for web browsing and playing games.

I much prefer reading on an e-ink reader than a tablet. I try to avoid screen glare as much as possible to be easy on the eyes, and the battery life is simply no comparison.
Plus, a tablet has too many distractions- when I read I try to focus and concentrate on what I'm reading. |

Don't read on my tablet at all (except for reading web pages!), much prefer eink for books.
I'm interested in those who say they have barely touched their ereaders since getting a tablet, what kind of reading do you do? |
