Plays Vote • October 2012
Help us choose the October 2012 selection to read for the MR Literary Club! The poll will be open for two days.
The vote is multiple choice. You may vote for as many or as few as you like. A discussion thread will begin shortly after a winner is chosen. In the event of a tie, there will be a one-day non-multiple-choice run-off poll. In the event that the run-off poll also ends in a tie, the tie will be resolved in favour of the selection that received all of its initial nominations first. Select from the following works: Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw Spoiler:
The Iceman Cometh by Eugene O'Neill Spoiler:

Arms and the Man it is! It wasn't one I voted for but I was interested in all the nominations this month. I actually already started reading it yesterday seeing it would probably win and wow, it's very short; I'm halfway through already!
The discussion thread for it will be up shortly. |

This was a great list to select from. In addition to the winner I already plan on also reading The Iceman Cometh and Śakuntalā. In fact the only play that does not interest me for now is The Oresteia, and that only because I am at present feeling sated with Greek/Roman classics.

I also just noticed, we beat the general club to a pick for the month! Heh, I think that's a first.

I thought the nominations including the ones that didn't make it to the vote were terrific. I'd have read any of them happily; I decided I was most in the mood for something fun, but I plan to get around to several of the others. Thanks to sun surfer for Śakuntalā, of which I had never heard.
