[Solved} Sigil and CyBook Gen3 problem

Hi,

I have just started using Sigil and I'm very impressed with the ease of use, etc.

However, when I copied the files over to my CyBook the reader reboots when accessing them... I found the following in another thread:

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=168336

Quote:
Cybooks will sometime react to wrongly coded books by rebooting all over again.
and this is exactly what is happening to me!

I have used the epub check facility in Sigil and no errors were generated.

So, the problem is that now I cannot use Sigil with CyBook until a workaround can be found. Unfortunately, I don't know what is meant by "wrongly-coded" if Sigil is actually coding properly.

Any ideas?

It might be that something inside the books is "too big"[*], like a too large cover image, or a book segment (chapter) too large.

* Here, "too big" means only "too big for the Gen3's limited processing power and memory", not that it's wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion Jellby but I've created epub books for the CyBook previously with similar Chapter lengths and cover images, etc. with no problems.

This has now happened twice with epubs created using Sigil.

If there are no specific suggestions for fixing this, you can always try the usual approach of cutting out parts of your epub. Try removing most everything from your book and see if it loads. If it does, then cut out bits of your original file until you find which version loads. Tedious, but if its fixable then this should tell you where the problem is.

Thanks meme (and apologies jellby - you were right) CyBook did not like the cover images I had included. Resizing them did the trick.

Thanks.
