New Kindle - I don't have wifi

I just got a new Kindle today, and don't have wifi. Can I load ebooks on to it from my computer via the USB cable? Any special folder they should go into?

I've bought some ebooks from Amazon in the past. According to the manual I could download them again with wifi; Is there any way of replacing them again without wifi?

1. Buy a book from amazon
2. Click Your Digital Items (top right)
3. Click Your Kindle Orders
4. Find your book that you want on your Kindle W/o Wifi and click Deliver To... and select Transfer via Computer
5. Hit download, plug kindle into USB, and put *.azw2 file into Document folder of your kindle.
6. Unplug Kindle and enjoy book.

just got my "3" and used the technique mentioned above....
works just fine.

Are you sure you don't have Wi-Fi? Most modems do have an antenna now days that allows wireless internet access for their Netbooks, Kindles and such.

Actually it is even simpler if you select the Deliver To option before clicking the Buy Now.. button, using the dropdown just beneath. Choose "transfer via computer", then hit Buy. I believe that will initiate download.

Well, I followed the instructions in the manual to check for a wifi, and the Kindle said there was nothing in range. I'm using a cable router for a small home network consisting of my computer and my wife's computer.

That's why a like Wi-Fi routers. Cheap and efficient piece of hardware, a good investment.
