I'm tempted to update my rooted nook - but could someone post a screencap of how the new library looks…

A kind person over at the B&N boards posted a before and after pic of the screen showing improved contrast. There is a noticeable difference.

Can you tell me how to delete books directly from the nook, I'm on 1.5 but don't see this ability... Is for both B&N books as well as side-loaded books?

that was actually the first thing I noticed after the update, looks nice, will bring it in to my local BB and compare to the K3 and the new Sony's.

I notice the difference from 1.4, but I think the background on the K3 might be whiter still.

I beg to differ, sort of.

While the actual "fade out/fade in" part seems the same, 1.5 has virtually no delay between pressing the button and the start of the page turn. To me, that is a faster page turn.

I just noticed something interesting. I used to have My Documents sorted by author. Somehow, probably with the update, it got changed to a sort by title and didn't seem to me to look any different than before the update. Then I changed the sort to author and now I'm seeing the new format. That format has reduced the number of pages for my index by a good 25% or more. It also shows me some variations in spelling, middle initials, presence or lack of a period after the middle initial and so on I hadn't been aware of. I'd noticed, when adding books to My Documents, that I'd get folders I wasn't expecting due to such variations, but there seem to be even more that I never corrected.

I think I'm going to be reorganizing with shelves for quite some time. I started by creating a Humor folder and looking through for books to put in it. I've noticed the index seems to keep switching back and forth from the old style with the large title and small author's name under every title and the new style with the large author's name and small titles. I'm not sure what's up with that.

Why Nookdevs.com doesn´t announces anything about this new firmware on their site? One banner saying "we are working on the next release of nookdevs firmware." would sound great...

Only for My Documents - From the main library page, whether you're using Shelves or not, highlight the book title. In the LCD display, the 4th option is "Item details & options" Tap that. The next screen will allow you to either "Read" or "Delete." Tap "Delete" and then "OK" twice. All gone!

You should update just for the increased speed in page turns.

I did have a go today at a nook that has 1.5 on it and the page turns are now a good speed. Well done B&N.

^^ Yes I would appreciate steps too. To go from a 2.4.1 to the 2.5.0 I wonder if we can just follow the last steps at NookDevs but use the 2.5.0. But I don't want to brick my Nook, so I would rather have NookDevs post instructions.
