New portable power brick at Sam's Club

Pocket Power is selling a new power brick at Sam's Club, intended to provide extended battery power to small portable devices.

It's a little hard to tell exactly how it works, but it's a rechargeable NiMH battery that's nicely packaged and only 3.75" x 6" x 1". Oddly, there are no real specs on the battery power rating, nor does it specify how you connect it to charge it. I assume you use one of those power cords that has the two prong A/C connector to plug into the back of a computer.

Might be worth a trip into Sam's Club to check it out if you have a membership.

Yes there are various options to power up your electrical devices. If you live in very cold areas I would recommend using some of the car jump starters that have power from lead acid cells. Not only can you jump start your car, you can power up your electrical devices.

My brother uses it to power his laptop, which are very power hungry devices. Some made by vector have AC converters too with more wattage capability than the device featured.

However if you live in hotter areas a solar powered option by other companies is also an option.

I've noticed a lot of small quick-power devices for cell-phones, too. Very good stuff.

Thumbs up

This device is unique because it doesn't require proprietary tips for every device you use. They should also come out with a model that can recharge laptops in addition to mobile devices.
