E-Ten M600 Windows Mobile 5.0 phone in Q3 2005

Taiwan-based E-Ten displayed the E-Ten M600 at Computex Taipei, a Pocket PC-based smartphone with WiFi capability and powered by Windows Mobile 5.0. It is further equipped with quad-band GSM, a 1.3mp camera, 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, and a 400MHz processor.

The Inquirer was informed that the release date for this device is in September 2005.

I wonder when other PDA phones of this calibre will be announced by other manufacturers... I'm still hanging on to a phone that's slipping off from its hinges simply because I'm waiting for a WM5.0-based PDA phone!

I agree with you, sillius. I think we will soon see the market filled with new Pocket PC smartphones.

I actually meant WM 5.0 PDA phones, not WM 5.0 smartphones. Personally I don't like the phones running WM 2003 Smartphone, simply because I think they aren't all that easy to use, and it doesn't have all the apps you've come to know and love in WM2003.

But you're right - there will be soon a flooding of smartphones, and then we'll have trouble finding a phone that allows you to simply talk and nothing else.

Actually with WM 5.0 I think Microsoft is not going to differentiate between PPC and smartphones anymore.
