How can I force Calibre to use a certain format for conversion?
I have 2 formats in a file - pdf and prc. I would like to convert the prc to mobi (I know, it is the same thing, but I want it to read mobi. That is OCD for ya). Is there a way to force Calibre to "convert" the prc file, or do I have to remove the pdf version, convert the prc and then move the pdf back?

In the conversion popup you can choose the input (top left) as well as the output formats.

I found this panel to be a little subtle. Input is the small upper left dropdown. Output is the small upper right dropdown. I would not call Calibre intuitive - but it darn well does anything I have needed so far.

When you click convert, in the Upper Left is the FROM version to use, on the Right is the TO version. You can set this to any valid format.

In preferences: General you set the order of the input list.
And you set the preferred output. in the output box.
The arrow next to the View button allows you to view a specific format.
