Custom news source

I am working on a custom news source and I wish to change the output style of the <blockquote> tag.
I have tried extra_css = '.blockquote { padding-left: 15px; border-left: 3px solid #ccc;}' but this does not work.

Am I using the wrong keyword or tag?

remove the dot in front of blockquote
