Evdo to wifi posible? Home EVDO access point

Is it be technically possible to have some evdo acces point at home so that the kindle could connect to the internet in areas that are not covered byWhispernet (e.g. abroad). this way things can be downloaded directly with out the need to conect any wires (like those lucky enough to be under current coverage) and have acces to surfing (amazon), books and wikipedia?

Just wondering.

What you are describing is a femtocell. Sprints version is AIRAVE. However, it isn't designed for data access and may not work with the Kindle.
