So it's just the device that's "Pre-installed" with the B&N NOOK app (literally seven clicks to go from a tablet home screen to install at the Google Play store) and... that's it?

No NOOK branding. No special features of any kind. Just apparently partnering with TCL to sell this in the store.

I also noted on the compare NOOK devices page that they changed it to "Compare Your NOOK Experiences" to include a TCL product. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/colle...k/nook-compare

I guess it's a decent budget tablet. The NXTPAPER technology seems kinda neat. It's a step up feature-wise from the Lenovo tablets (also in price). But no e-ink.

Just thinking how James Daunt pulled ebook selling from Waterstones when he was there... now we're just selling Android tablets that can have any Google Play apps on there... with the NOOK app that has seen two updates in the past 12 months (at least on the Apple App Store).

Feels like the writing is on the wall here for NOOK and ebooks.
