[GUI Plugin] CSV Update Metadata

CSV Update Metadata is a small plugin to facilitate the mass updating of the books metadata in your Calibre library.
This plugin also allow to export data of selected books into a CSV.

After load a CSV, select which column from the file to search in a library field to match the books to be updated, and associate which columns to use to update the fields, with different search and update options.

The plugin has the following features:

• Export data of selected books
• Preview source CSV content
• Preview library update
• Strong data validation before update

  • Case insensitive
  • Case sensitive
  • Calibre search
• Tags-like fields options:
  • Equal
  • Contain
  • Subset
• Update options:
  • Series-type fields include index
  • Append value for tags-type fields
  • Do not change the case if existing
• Limit update to scope:
  • Virtual library
  • Current search
  • Books selection
• Tolerate a wide range of differents CSV specifications

This plugin attempt to be a autnomous version and replacement of the similar feature in Job Spy by DaltonST. The only main unported feature is the support of SQL snippet and regex, however this plugin support the use of the Calibre search.

Special Notes:

• You can destroy your library using this plugin. Changes are permanent. There is no undo function. You are strongly encouraged to back up your library before proceeding.

Installation
Open Preferences -> Plugins -> Get new plugins and install the "Comments Cleaner" plugin.
You may also download the attached zip file and install the plugin manually, then restart calibre as described in the Introduction to plugins thread

The plugin works for Calibre 5 and later.

Wow! It's only been a quarter of an hour, and I already love this plugin.

It's definitely worth using the plural forms: "Columns", "Rows".

*looking in the plugin*: Where? Where! I was careful to use the plural forms wherever it was appropriate, it must be incredebly obvious if it report like that, right?
