Syncing read progress and bookmarks

I've been trying out a couple different plugins so that my bookmarks and current page are kept in sync between devices.

While the plugins seem to be 'working'... and I can see data being written into the 'sync folder' (in my case a webdav folder)..

... when I go to a secondary device to 'pull' - neither the page or bookmark are sync'd.

I'm trying out these plugins:
- AnnotationSync

- Syncery:
https://github.com/d0nizam/syncery.koplugin

Anyone had luck with either of these plugins -and/or- any luck with a different plugin?

Secondarily... since I use a shared nextcloud folder (e.g.: /nextcloud/books/) to keep my books sync'd across koreader (/nextcloud/books - the local folder), is my KoReader Home page.
... I wonder why that isn't enough to keep annotations/page/etal in sync... (there is a .SDR file written in that folder... so why isn't that enough?)

Maybe I'm not understanding how this should work - but if things are 'sync'd' then when I open the book on a secondary device (after syncing on my primary device) - shouldn't the book open to the same page as my primary device - and shouldn't I be seeing the same bookmarks?

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I found a plug in that just works... it is Deluxe-Sync... comes with its own sync server and wow - just worked immediately! https://github.com/jadehawk/deluxe-sync.koplugin

THIS IS AWESOME! Utterly seamless and simple. Thank you for sharing. The only thing that would make it better would be if they added the ability sync highlights. I don't annotate much, so that syncing less important for me, syncing highlights would be the icing on the cake
