Hi,
I’m making an EPUB book myself and ran into a bit of a problem, so I wanted to come here and discuss it with everyone.
A few passages in the book are written using a montage technique, with two scenes constantly switching back and forth, creating the illusion of a dialogue across space.
My question is: should I add styling to distinguish between the different scenes?

IMNSO, depends on how long the scenes are. Very long scenes in a special style would be somewhat annoying; short scenes would be fine. The alternative would be to use distinctly styled section breaks between the scenes, maybe?

Thanks. The scene only takes up half a chapter, and the tone is on the cheerful side. I’m planning to add side borders in different styles, as I feel this will have less impact on reading and also provide a bit of a cue.

Yes, I agree. Not different colors, though, as many people read on black-and-white devices and most colors just look uniformly grey there.
