span hidden="hidden" doesn't work: mass remove?

I have a book that was originally an AZW3 file. Throughout, it has this

Code:
<span aria-labelledby="pg68" epub:type="pagebreak" id="page68" role="doc-pagebreak" class="calibre"><span hidden="hidden" id="pg68" class="calibre">68</span></span>
On AZW3, this doesn't seem to matter, there's no visible effect on a Kindle. But when I converted it to EPUB and put it on my Kobo, the numbers aren't hidden, so every few paragraphs begins with a 68 or whatever.

Is there any way to do a replace-all to get rid of all of these instances at once? Or else make the Kobo hide what's meant to be hidden?

(The calibre class is just

.calibre {
font-size: 1em;
vertical-align: baseline;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
border: currentColor none 0;
})
