calibre, ARM, win11
I was considering buying a MS Surface laptop with ARM processor. Checking apps compatibility I get the impression that the current versions of Calibre are not considered to be compatible with win11 running on ARM.
If this is still correct, might be a good idea to put a note on the Calibre Windows download page warning people that it won't work on their win11 computer if it has an ARM processor. |

I'm running on a Surface Pro 11 (ARM). Calibre 9.7 hasn't given me any trouble yet. So far it seems 100% compatible. And the Prism emulation seems to be as fast as an Intel I5.

It works fine via emulation so far as I know.

ok. this is why I asked. I had seen a post on Mobileread Calibre forum. Someone asked about ARM, last sept I believe. Kovidgayol replied that it was a niche market, and no plans to compile for it.
Either something has changed, or I misunderstood. IAC, thanks for clarifying. |

Any recent generation. You're not likely to see a large difference between 12th, 13th, 14th generations when running an application like Calibre. The differences in performance might show up in a benchmark, but any recent i5 will perform roughly the same as any other i5 for most applications.
