Question Help needed. Change my Tolino Vision color to a Kobo Libre Color. Stuck!
Hi,
I tried everything that I could find on the net to change my Tolino Vision color to Kobo.
Unfortunately it’s on the newest firmware and devmode is gone.
Edited affiliate, different boots. Edited version file.
Nothing worked. Keeps booting into tolino setup every time.
Any idea and help is highly welcome.

This part of the GitHub repo helped me fully convert my Tolino to Kobo. After flashing the downgrade firmware, you can either keep it at 4.0 to use NickelMenu or update to the 5.0 Kobo firmware. Are you having an error at a specific step?

There is no Kobo 5.0 firmware. The latest Kobo firmware is 4.45.23646. That's for the Libra Colour, Clara Colour, and Clara BW.

Jon, Jon, Jon... Please stop pontificating on subjects of which you know less than nothing. The Kobo Libra Colour, Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Clara BW have an experimental v5 firmware. At one point, I accidentally had my Libra Colour on 5.10.225420 and the current v5 firmware is 5.13.241243 released on 2026-Jan-20.

See the two attached screenshots noting that this version of the Kobo firmware supports LCP.

Downgrade did not work
Hi,
I am also stuck on 5.15 firmware with my kobo libra color.
Any chance to downgrade. flashing the update.tar from downgrade package resulted in a boot loop.
please help

Does your version has the revert back to version without accessibility features option? Though that may only be an option of Kobos upgrading to the v5 firmware.

Try a hard reset using the buttons.

If it works, what firmware version is your device running after the hard reset: 4.x or 5.15.x? It's possible your recovery partition has been overwritten. Rolling back to 4.x will be possible, but I don't know how to overwrite the recovery.

Do you have a Kobo Libra Colour or Tolino Vision Color? Serial number N428......... or T106.........?
