Kindle "asize" tag

The Kindle guidlines for embedded fonts
https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/to...embedded_fonts
suggest using the word "asize" for font size in CSS:
Code:
body { font-family: PrimaryFont; font-size: asize; }
This is new to me and I couldn't find it in any CSS or HTML tutorial.
Does anyone here know what "asize" stands for?

I believe it is just meant as a stand in for a specific font size, such as 16pt. Just like PrimaryFont and SecondaryFont are not real font names.

Maybe. But the same article also says we should not use any (!) font size attribute for body text:
Quote:
Body text must use the default font size (1em) and line height. Body text should not use the <font size="…"> tag or the font-size and line-height attributes in CSS.
That's why I thought, maybe 'asize' is some rarely known CSS value that sets back a value to standard, or whatever.

Amazon's Kindle formatting documentation is terrible. It is inconsistent, inaccurate, and incomplete.

---

For example I noticed today that Amazon just added a new section, "Common errors leading to Kindle conversion internal error", to the Attributes and Tags Supported by Enhanced Typesetting guideline page. The instructions and examples provided are terrible.
