Word to Epub conversion - three blank pages added

Hello,

I've converted a word document to an epub file with Calibre 8.13 and three blank pages have been inserted into the epub file, at the end of three different chapters. I've looked in the index_split code for the different chapters and I can't see any difference in the chapters that have the blank pages at the end and the ones that don't

Other than that the conversion is clean. If I can get rid of the three blank pages then it'll be finished.

When I converted the book, I cleared the boxes in Structure Detection (for detect chapters and insert page breaks and unchecked the remove fake margins box). The only other change I made was to preserve cover aspect ratio in the output.

How can I delete the three blank pages? What should I be looking for in the index_split code pages? Or should I be looking somewhere else.

It is almost certain (99%) that the cause of the blank pages is in the DOCX file, e.g. empty paragraphs styled with Page break before option set.

Added: Easy way to check - get Word to save as PDF and have a look at it with a PDF viewer.

Thanks for this. There is a page break at the end of each chapter, but there doesn't seem to be anything different in the chapters that do generate the blank pages and those that don't.

I will double check the page break before option, but I don't ever remember setting that.
