Question USB OTG host mode in tolino shine 2hd

Had anyone ever managed to connect an external keyboard / mouse to Tolino Shine 2 HD via USB (OTG) ?

says OTG is "working" but it doesn't for me

I tried downloading the kernel from opensource tolino website, then modifying .config flags (copied from imx6s_ntx_defconfig) to enable OTG (with some help from gemini) but flashing it didn't help at all.

I flashed the config without .dtb because I was told my tolino kernel doesn't use one, no idea if that's the issue i just didn't manage to compile the .dts that's somewhere online

Android 4.4.2 / Kernel 3.0.35

correction: i didn't copy the defconfig (it didn't boot up, just showed logo for 10 seconds and tolino rebooted to stock kernel) i actually used adb to get config.gz and then modified that
