partly bricked Kobo Aura one

Hi there,

so, I "partly" broke my Aura One finally.
It still works, boots up fine, I even can read books....but:
I cannot install/uninstall NM any longer (as soon as i place the "uninstall" file in the directory, there's a "Import content; 6% done..." on the screen, and it freezes. I cannot install anything (tried to install KoboMail previously ( --> i think, that messed up something; tried to re-install NM, no success)
when i try to ssh into the reader, the connection is closed from the reader (port is open and i can connect (you can see it with ssh -vvv)), but it'll be closed eventually.

if i do a factory reset, the "remains" from NM and Kobo Mail are still there...
ah...i am on the latest FW - 4.38.23429

So, what option do i have left?
Is there a possibility to Re-format, re-image, re-<younameit> the aura one?

any ideas?

You could try entering devmodeon in a search and then trying the factory reset from the Developer Options menu ( More => Settings =>Device information => Developer options ). This is the old factory reset reverting to factory firmware and wiping everything.

You can also trigger a manual factory reset by connecting your Aura One to power (computer or wall wart), holding the power button until the Aura One turns off. Once it has turned off, press and hold the power button until the Restoring screen shows and then release the power button.

Out of curiosity, how are you trying to uninstall NickelMenu? If you are placing a file called uninstall in the .adds/nm directory, if your Kobo eReader.conf contains the correct ExcludeSyncFolders line under the [FeatureSettings] header, Nickel should not even be scanning the nm folder (I use the second line since I rename the screensaver directory to screensaver_old when I turn off the using the screensaver directory to allow showing cover instead).

Code:
ExcludeSyncFolders=(\\.(?!kobo|adobe).+|([^.][^/]*/)+\\..+)
ExcludeSyncFolders=(\\.(?!kobo|adobe).+|([^.][^/]*/)+\\..+)|(screensaver_old)
