Recommended reads from library? Preferably FB feed
I get at least five book recommendations from amazon a day on my facebook feed. Then, I go to the libraries that I belong to and eight out of ten times they don't have these books. I suspect most of them are amazon publications. Does anyone know of any way to get recommendations of books, to my facebook feed from my libraries? I do follow my local libraries on my facebook feed, but most of that is marketing, not book recommendations. Is there an app that would allow me to do this? Is there any way to set up that many filters through facebook that it would be just send me book recommendations from my libraries?

Find sites that review the kinds of books you like and follow them on Facebook. Only click on stuff that interests you. Don't click on obvious shills, as in Amazon links. The same goes for Goodreads. Basically, you've got to be more proactive. Don't expect some internet site to do the work for you. What's in it for them? Don't feed them info (e.g., clicking on clickbait) that will result in more similar "recommendations". Don't forget that you're the product. |

Yes, Kindleb Unlimited. It'd be nice if they'd recommend prime reading since I DO pay for that

If you want to give it a look, this project is based on pods instead centralization, maybe you can find one that's close to you or to your prefences: https://diasporafoundation.org/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaspora_(social_network) Ps: usually libraries might not have a book in there, but thought for the most part them can order 'em - imho. |

OK, here's a suggestion: At OverDrive libraries, you can search on recent purchases and filter by topic. Start checking your libraries regularly, at least once a week (books are generally added on Tuesday and Friday, in my experience) for latest purchases in your favorite categories. You'll probably start out on waitlists, but eventually they'll percolate through as your holds are repopulated. You can also search on topics that appeal and limit it to available now. |

https://www.facebook.com/LibbyApp
The Libby App Facebook page has book recommendations all the time. I'm sure your availability will vary based on your library, but at least the lists are recommended by the library people. ![]() |
