Troubleshooting Kindle Basic 7th freezes when unplugged

Hello, I just got a Kindle Basic 7th generation but it has some issues..
I upgraded with the V5.12.2.2. firmware and I still have this problem :
The kindle works fine when plugged to my computer but it freezes as soon as I unplug it.
Even the on/off button doesn’t do anything, nor the 40sec hold…
Could it be the battery to be changed ??

Have you tried using a USB wall adapter for power? If it works with that but still dies when unplugged then the battery is likely dead. It's not simple, but it's much easier to change the battery on your Kindle 7 than a lot of devices.

Thanks Frogm4n ! Yes, the Kindle works when plugged with USB wall adapter, and it always does a full restart. I'll see if it's worth it to change the battery. I know it's not too difficult to fix and it's not very expensive.. but I already have a Kobo Touch.

ok, so I got a new battery for less than 15$, and the kindle works perfectly now !
