"Add from ISBN" adds empty entry for valid ISBN
I want to add a book record from its ISBN, but when I enter the ISBN 9783839891261 (for the German book CD "Tschick" by Wolfgang Herrndorf) I get an empty book.

Do I have to add special look up services for German book/audio CD ISBNs?

If none of the builtin sources have that book, then yes you will need a source that does.

How can I add a new source for finding books by ISBN? Add what format must the source provide?

I had a look at the manual, maybe I overlooked it, but I could only find details how to add news sources...

I feel totally dumb, but I cannot find it in the manual. Do you mean "class calibre.ebooks.metadata.sources.base.Source"?

And the Plugin index I couldn't find there neither. As said, I feel totally dumb...

just to follow up: The Goodreads plugin seem to have done the trick in my case.

BTW, I now understand the structure of metadata search and plugins in calibre a bit better. Thanks for "nudging" me there.
