Endnotes are not working even though they are working on iOS & macOS

So, I made an epub, validated it and everything works fine. Now, I sent it to my Google Play Books to make sure it works, and it does. However, the endnotes links are broken on the endnote page.

So, when I click a superscript, it shows a popup (the direction is wrong in the popup.) If I click on "Show on the page" it takes me to the endnotes page. Which is correct. However, when I click on the same superscript to take me back to where I was, it does not do anything.

Any idea how different Google Play Book from Apple systems in terms of endnotes?

I use id and href to link endnotes within text to endnotes page.
