At times, Amazon sparse/empty on metadata. Can Calibe use Google Books meta?

Here are my active metadata-source plugins:
Amazon.com
Big Book Search
Edelweiss
Google
Google Images
Open Library
Overdrive

I have chosen to download everything but ratings. This means comments, pub date, author, title, tags, cover, etc.

At times, there's not much metadata that is downloaded. When I check the amazon product page, there's no description/comments.

But when I google-search the ISBN, I see the right-sidebar, which has info from Google Books. On the google books page, I see Author, Publisher, Pub Date, Category/Tag, and Comments.

On the Google Search for the ISBN, I also see a link to the abebooks product page, which has a lot of metadata. Is there a way to get Calibre to search for more sources, in case Amazon comes up short?

What other plugins do you recommend? Is there a way to browse plugins by category? For this case, I'd like to see all the plugins in the Metadata Source category.

droopy, it is not always about 'how many', but having just enough of the correct ones (or configured for your language/country) for YOUR library.

(IMHO too many, just slows down the fetch process. OTOH have more than 1 , good ones, ups your chances of a decent return )

The Goodreads plugin usually seems to have good metadata, in my experience.

I learned that when we "Download Metadata" for just one book, we are happily given the option to choose from the metadata from various sources. This way, we can select the correct book (which usually means correct metadata).

On the other hand, it's too bad that when we select multiple books and run "Download Metadata", it gives us no option as to which source (out of the several I've enabled) to use.

All this to say, sometimes I'm forced to run Download_Metadata one book at a time.

Here's my workflow:
1. Click the "Extract ISBN" (a plugin i installed) on those books that are without an ISBN.
2. Select multiple books.
3. Run "Download Metadata".
4. Click "Reject" if the metadata (including the title/author) is wrong.
5. For the rejected books, run Download Metadata one book at a time.
6. Choose the correct set of metadata for each book (e.g., it may be kobobooks.com for one book and amazon for another and GoogleBooks for another and GoodReadsEvenMoreTags for another).
