Bug in searching series_index
I do a search for series_index:<=1 or any search that finds a series_index of 1, I do get the results I want. But I also get a number of results that have blank series fields. If I search for a vaue of 2, I do not get any results with no series.

Can this please be fixed?

Here is definitely what works. That will search for series with a number of 1 or less. If you want to search for any other numbers, just edit what series_index is searching for.
