Über Leo Freund (1897-1948), der u.a. unter dem Pseudonym Michael Corvin veröffentlichte, ist bislang nicht nicht viel bekannt. Er war jüdischer Herkunft, verfasste Romane und Schauspiele und betätigte sich um 1930 in Berlin als wissenschaftlicher und politischer Journalist mit Schwerpunkt Wirtschaft; im britischen Exil wirkte er an der Exilanten-Zeitschrift "The Camp" (Isle of Wight) mit, deren Herausgeber er sogar möglicherweise war.
"Der heimliche Kampf - Die Geschichte der Esther Raleigh" (1930, 382 Seiten) ist ein journalistischer Wirtschafts- und Polit-Krimi.
