Kindle Unlimited 25% off when you pre-pay

Amazon has a special Valentine's deal on Kindle Unlimited. If you prepay for a subscription of 6 months, 12 months or 24 months, you'll save 25% off the regular price of $9.99 a month. (Making it roughly $7.49 a month.) This deal is good through February 14th, 11:59pm Pacific.

• 6 Months: Regularly $59.94 - Now $44.95
• 12 Months: Regularly $119.88 - Now $89.91
• 24 Months: Regularly $239.76 - Now $179.82

The terms also say that existing Kindle Unlimited monthly subscribers are eligible as long as they have not had a pre-paid subscription in the past:

That is incorrect. You can have a pre-paid subscription in the past and still be eligible for this offer. The term of the old pre-paid subription must already be over and you are back on the monthly plan. I had the 6 month pre-paid subscription from prime day, it rolled back to monthly. And I just purchased the 24 month valentines subscription that got the 25% (before tax) applied. Currently my status is still monthly until the month is over - then the 24 month subscription is going to be used. I would not be elegible for another discount right now, because I now have a previously pre-paid subscription applied to my account which has not even started (the one I just bought).
