Sure enough, I logged into my pretty much never used Shelfari account and there's a big banner across the page with a link that leads to the announcement...

Yes, I think the move from Shelfari to Goodreads hasn't been neither good announced nor smooth.

I think it would have been nice if Goodreads staff had been the ones to set out a Welcome mat/thread/announcement in Feedback or site-wide, instead of a Shelfari user having to be the one to start the discussion. Seems there are a lot of dedicated users who go back many years...definitely have my sympathy, it's tough to let go of a community, even if there's a new 'home.'

Yeah. This blows. If you try to migrate your data, be prepared for an unholy mess, not to mention losing Shelfari's functionality.
