Adding multiple pages to a Sigil document
Hi
I have now finished my first ebook trial and all is exactly as I want it. At least for an epub format. Thanks for tipps and help in this forum. What I now have to do is to add 85 additional pages. Is there a quick way, when I make a template page (how) with some repeating content already in? The screen shot shows you what I would like to copy and instert. Except the actual content. The page number I think I can easily change, and from the meta info nothing else changes. All pages contain about the same amount of text and no pics. The story itself runs over exactly 101 pages. Earlier this year the story has been writen for facebook, one page every day. The printed book has already found about a 100 buyers without much advertising. Thanks for any help. I'm not sure you need all that meta data in the header of each sheet. Wouldn't it be better to simply put it in the content.opf file??

Hello theducks
Thanks for your response. I did found the way, it is actually quite easy. Or in Sigil on the last page (15) I have made up yet? Hello Turtle91 Thank you too for your answer. Yes, this question has also crossed my mind. But do you have the answer of know a link to this answer? Last edited by Arran; 08-21-2015 at 12:53 PM. |

It was kind of rhetorical. I don't think it is required to have that metadata in each sheet. The ePub format is designed to have all the items packaged in a single document and the .opf file has any/all metadata. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a kindle/kobo/apple etc. glitch requirement to put that information on each sheet. I've cleaned up hundreds of ePubs and only seen 2 or 3 that have any metadata on the sheets themselves.

There's no meta-data in any of my epubs, nor in the Sigil User's Guide.

A possible reason FOR would be for Copyright identification if page is extracted.

Hello to all helpers.
I did Manage the splits and it works wonderful. A big thank you for your help. A propos the metadata: It seems they are not really needed on each page. Would one leave them on the Entry page and perhaps on the Impressum page towards the end of the book? I think, that makes sense. @ theducks: I consider there is no great demand to pirate a page in this project. So, I will eliminate that ballast soon. |

The "content.opf" page is the only page I've ever left meta-data.
