Johnny's Girl by UK author Paige Toon is a tie-in short to her untitled series of chick-lit celebrity lifestyle comedy novels with romantic elements starring a former celebrity personal assistant who finally lands the rock star of her dreams and finds out that the ensuing happily ever after isn't quite what she was expecting, free courtesy of publisher Simon & Schuster UK.

This is being offered free for a limited time to promote the upcoming 2nd in the spin-off YA series starring the obligatory long-lost rock star daughter from a previous relationship, slated for release on July 30th.

Currently free until August 3rd, according to the author's website, @ B&N UK, Amazon UK, iTunes UK, and Kobo UK (also available to Australia/New Zealand, most Europeans, and Japan when I spot-check iTunes and presumably matched in other stores), and probably also Google Play for those regions as well.

Unlikely to cross the pond, as this is not only decidedly unfree in North America, but also priced at $3.99 for what's admittedly an uninterrupted no-sample-chapter-excerpt-including 100 pages of short story, but still…
